The FILMLINE doctype is for filmline v 1.x records (the proposed version 2.x is based upon a SGML DTD), a special document format based heavily upon the Medline format. It was developed by BSn and JFF (German Intitute for Children's Film and Television) for interchange of mediagraphic records and as a basis for database publishing for their printed film catalogue1.

FILMLINE 1.x is currently being used in several European mediagraphic projects. In a modified form it also provides the interchange format for the German National DVB project as DVBLINE.
