Result Set Form Elements

The result set form has quite a few elements:

Shows at a glance:

The name of the database one searched ("MAIL").
The number of matching records (21), the number of hits displayed (10) and the total number of records in the database (450).
The CPU resources that the process used (166 msec).
When and from where the query was made.

Lets one "re-run" the search to increase the number of hits. Pressing the

button runs the search again. Below the pulldown is a Headline selection pulldown

like the one in the search form to select the headline field.

The RPN Query Input Box:

Shows the RPN (Reverse Polish Notation) representation of the query constructed with the search form.

The is used to page through the results.

Examine one of the results:

It shows

The Hit number
The relevance ranking on a scale of up to five red balls
The Headline.
The ANSI date of the record. A date such as 19941003 represents 03 October 1994.

The results window is pretty standard with the exception of the radio buttons.

These buttons are used to specify elements for Relevant Feedback. Pressing one of the buttons allows one to specify that the contents of the field is relevant to the search. The contents are used to search for relevant information in the same field of other records. One may press one or more buttons to specify multiple relevant fields from different records. To examine the contents of the field: select the link to the right of the button. This link returns a HTML presentation (created "on-the-fly") of the contents of the field.
Press any of the or buttons to search using the relevant field information.

To look at the HTML version (created "on-the-fly") of the record, select the HTML Presentation format link (as an example press it in the above graphic). SUTRS returns a structured plain-text representation (created "on-the-fly"). The third presentation format is dependant upon the native format of the record, eg. in the example above a MAILFOLDER record (Content-type: Message/rfc822). Selecting this presentation allows one to load the native ("raw") record into a suitable viewer (providing that the WWW Browser, resp. MIME .mailcap, is properly configured).
If, for example, this was a "Word for Windows" (Content-type: Application/X-MSWord) document then it would load the document into a "Word for Windows" viewer.
